Frequently asked questions related to all aspects of ordering from Newprint.

Which labels are water and heat resistant?
To have a product resistant to water and heat, you will need to use vinyl labels with added coating.
Which labels are the best option for cleaning supply bottles?
The best option would be White Vinyl Label with Permanent Adhesive. They are waterproof.
What stocks are available for Labels?
Stock can be divided into two main categories, paper stock (not waterproof, only for indoor use) and synthetic stock (tearproof, waterproof, suitable for cosmetics and outdoor use when coated). Paper stock comes as uncoated, matte or gloss. We can add a Gloss UV coating or lamination on the gloss label. That way, the ink will be protected from smudging, and the labels would become fridge and freezer safe. Matte and uncoated labels can't be coated, but the finish allows you to write on them with pens and pencils. Synthetic labels come as white labels and clear (transparent) labels. Adding a Gloss...
What type of coating do you suggest for clear labels that go on candles & bath salts jars?
Gloss lamination or gloss UV. Lamination is a plastic film that sticks on the label by applying pressure, while the UV is liquid coating fast cured by UV lights. Both are adding additional protection and shine.
For my ingredients listing, I’m finding that I need to go down to a 3 or even 2.5 font size. Is that going to show?
The font size of 2.5 or even 3 is quite small. If possible, I would suggest going with 3.5 - 4. You should also check if there are any legal requirements for your industry in regards to the font size of ingredient lists.
What does printing with Pantone mean?
Pantone is a colour matching system that is widely used in the printing industry. The Pantone ink system consists of several colour books, and each ink is defined by its own number. Pantone inks are pre-made and mixed to get the exact colour that you need, and this pre-mixed ink is used on the printing press. This ensures colour consistency throughout the entire print run.
What information should be on letterhead?
A letterhead usually includes the following information: legal business name, company logo, company address, phone number, fax number, email address, company website, company registration number.
Can Magnets have rounded corners?
You would have to request a custom quote for Magnets with rounded corners.
Do you have double-sided magnets?
Double-sided magnets are not something we offer at this time.
What's the thickness of your magnets?
When you order magnets online they will be printed directly on a 14pt magnetic sheet. A custom quote can be created to print magnets on 12pt paper and stick it on a magnetic sheet, for a total thickness of 24pt.
How are Magnets wrapped in the box and shipped?
Depending on the quantity and size, they would be put in small boxes first or shrink-wrapped and then put in the shipping box. The empty space would be filled with the craft paper to prevent moving inside the box
Do you provide envelopes for each magnet?
Envelopes are not part of the Magnet product. They can be ordered separately, if needed, as a custom order.
Do I need to include bleeds for Magnets?
Yes, a standard bleed of 0.125'' on all sides is required.
What's the difference between NCR Forms and Carbonless Forms?
There is no difference between NCR Forms and Carbonless forms. These are just two different names for the same product. "NCR" stands for No Carbon Required.
What is the double-sided option on page one, and what is it typically used for?
Typically, important information such as terms and conditions, instructions, and "fine print" content is printed on the back of the form for the customer to read without taking up all of the space on the front of the form. The content on the back should be a very light colour of approximately 50% opacity to not show through on the front side.
When setting up my NCR forms document, how much space should I leave for page edge margins?
Most NCR forms are printed on paper that is the finished size, and the press used requires a minimum of 0.25" of grip. For this reason, please make sure to apply at least 0.25" of margins to your design. This is known as the "Print Safe Zone". An additional 0.25'' of margins should be added to the binding side.
Can custom numbering be positioned anywhere on the page?
Numbering can be placed anywhere on the form but is usually positioned in an upper or lower corner. An area of at least 1" x 0.5" is required for the numbering. This can be indicated with a box or a prefix, such as "Invoice:" or simply left blank. It is recommended to position the numbering a minimum of 1" away from the edge of the page. The desired location for the numbering can be indicated by adding an overprint layer in Adobe Illustrator or InDesign to show where the numbering should go. However, it needs to be done carefully to ensure the overprint element is set up correctly. If no specific location is indicated, the numbering will be positioned in the best available location with sufficient...
What is the thickness of NCR forms and books?
The thickness of a 2 part NCR book is 0.5" per 50 sets. The thickness of a 3 part NCR book is 0.75" per 50 sets.  For 25 sets of a 2 part form, the thickness is 0.25", and for 25 sets of a 3 part form it is 0.375".
How many books would I be getting based on the quantity I order?
It all depends on how many forms you order. For example, if your order quantity is 50, you will get either 1 book of 50 forms or 2 books of 25 forms. The quantity is not the number of books; it is the number of forms ordered. Example: QTY ÷ SETS per Book = Number of Books 1000 Forms ÷ 50 Sets Per Book = 20 Books
Are there any guidelines to follow while creating a form? What should be the size of the document?
Do not add bleeds to NCR forms. Your document dimensions should match the paper size you choose when placing your online order.
